Summary and suggestions

1.1 Purposes of practicum

the purpose of the program is to prepare myself as a College of education student to be a future teacher, and develop my skills in teaching and pedagogy, and especially improve my English skill in speaking. Knowing about how to teach in other country from southeast asia, And have learned how to navigate other cultures, adapt to new environments and cultures.

1.2 Procedures of practicum

After the orientation day, we met our cooperating teacher. And after that, we start our observation acitivies to know more about how's our cooperating teacher's teaching, our students and school in a week. 

followed by teaching assistance activities, this is about how we exploring our cooperating teacher's method and materials and the lesson plan, and also helping our cooperating teacher with to improve us in final teaching practice. 

The last is teaching practice, this is the core of this practicum. To show our teaching skills from all the results that we already face it during the observation and assistant activities.

After all of those activities, the last is we will get an evaluation from our cooperating teacher to improve us more in the future.

1.3 Outcomes of practicum

I have learned so many things from this program, the most important thing is i have known a ways to teaching,improving my teaching skill and my English skills for the future. And, self-development and awareness leading to enchanced my self-confidence and self-esteem. Encouraged me to accept and understand about different cultural and community prespective. 

1.4 The challenges of practicum

The main challenge for me ofcourse the teaching practice, because it was my first time teaching and teach  foreign students.like, i should find my class management, and how to make my materials interesting. for the environment, its not a big deal for me eventhough its hard to find the halal foods there, and the mosque. And the languages, eventhough most of the cebuano they can speaks English but sometimes they forgot if they speak in bisaya with me that i can't understand.

1.5 Overall Impression

This is one of my biggest achievements of my life for being a part of this program. This program is really giving me a new experiences, i will never forget the experiences that i got from this program . I learned about how to teaching and learning to be a professional teacher, and made me more open-minded . Also, made me see how beautiful and peaceful it is to be united with everyone in despite of, different cultures, beliefs and the language.

1.6 Suggestions for future improvement 

Overall i have no suggestion for future improvement. This program, especially USJR is already give me amazing experiences and very impressive from my first impression until i ended this program.

Closing Program ; Goodbye doesn't mean the end

"Should i say goodbye?"
"oh no,please. can't we go back to page one and do it all over again?"
That's always what was on my mind when the last day i was in USJR.😣
the culminating program was held at Basak Auditorium on September 2. I really did not expect if this closing program from USJR would be as exciting as this. there are so many who attend our closing program, especially the College of education students and the lecturers.
And, also at first my cooperating teacher told me that she can not come to see me in our closing program, but in the end i'm shocked when i see her come see me.😅

As always, Thank you for our coordinator that always be our best host to held the program.

We did some talkshow, about how's our experience took part in Sea-Teacher program, in Cebu and USJR .

Miss cheene and the Dean giving a little speech for us and  motivating College of education students to join the Sea-Teacher project also.

And also the most important and unforgettable part of this program is the cultural exchange. Me and Cyntia wearing "ULOS" which is one of our traditional cloth, the Batak tribe.

we also performed a song from Batak,called "Boru Panggoaran".

And from USJR, they also performed as always the dance from adalante dance trope that always amazed me, and the choir also was amazing.😭😍

as always, i'm easily touched and moved and my art soul is very high. HAHAHA so when i listen to the choir singing in harmony and the dance group also,i wanted to cry because it's so beautiful.

And the moment of giving placard from UMSU to USJR, and USJR to UMSU also. And certificate for both of us,  the principle of USJR junior high school and our cooperating teachers.

Some students also who came for our closing program, thank you so much guys!

How lucky i am to have something that makes me saying goodbye so hard!😫

A thousand times i said if i was one of the luckiest ,because i could be a part of SEAMEO project, moreover i was accepted at the USJR.
going to the Philippines is one of my dream since i was in middle school, and i never thought about i could stay in Philippines especially Cebu for a month without ever feel what the homesick is,Because i really enjoyed it. People around me always makes me comfortable, they all so kind and just like my family.
this is one of my biggest achievements right now, that i could be a pre-service teacher in another country. I still can't even believe until now that i did it😅

Thank you for Teacher Netty and Mica who had accompany us to the airport.

Time fliest so fast, i wish i could turn back time.
i will never forget you my students, my cooperating teacher, my buddies, and everyone who been helping us anytime.

• Temple of Leah

Temple of Leah is one of my favorite place in cebu, because in Temple of Leah we can see how the cebu city from the highlands, the view is so beautiful. The temple is a 45 minutes from city centre, Temple of Leah is shrine holding the memory and treasures of Leah Albino -Adarna.

• Cebu Sirao Garden

It is also known as Mini-Little Amsterdam of Cebu, located in a Barangay mountain of Cebu city. one thing that i like the most when i visit Sirao is i met a lot of foreigners especially from South Korea, China,Japan, and Hongkong. I also really like this place, if you are the type of person who likes flower, then Sirao Garden is the right place for you. the funny thing is, i almost cried when i was there 😅 because when you just focus to see the flowers, breath it in and feel the wind it's really make your soul so peaceful and get rid of all the stress in your mind.
